Sports play a very important role in the lives of many of our students and families. We're proud to offer many sports for students to choose from within a small school environment, and we've been deeply blessed by the incredible commitment of our volunteer coaches, without whom none of this would be possible.
In the fall, we offer girls' volleyball on campus and boys' football through a combined team of several Catholic schools called Central Catholic. In the winter, basketball is a major sport for both boys and girls. In the spring, we offer softball.
The following requirements must be met to be eligible for extracurricular activities
Students must be in school at least one-half (minimum of 4 hours) to attend an evening school function and/or ball games. See the Athletic Handbook for full details on procedures to follow for academic requirements.
Show up to games, cheer, and support our teams!
Children learn from modeling. When talking about the game, season, performances, and decision-making, please share the gift of a positive outlook on life! Make sure that your child knows that, win or lose, he/she is loved and supported.
Encourage student-athletes to be responsible for the care of their athletic gear and to be prepared for athletic practices and games. In addition, all student-athletes should speak directly with their coach about any questions and/or concerns.
As do all good educators, St. Rose coaches will naturally and deliberately reflect on all game situations and decisions. Please allow coaches the time they need to process their decisions before approaching them with any questions. Coaches need not discuss playing time, coaching strategies and specific plays, or information pertaining to other athletes.
Take pride in our athletic program and model for visitors how we:
