Music and Choir

The Music Ministry team consists of all musicians and singers who bring their talents and dedication to our parish liturgical worship. These include the Music Ministry Coordinator, Choir Director, Adult Choir Members, Organists, Cantors, Instrumentalists, our talented youth musicians and all who enrich our faith community with planning and preparing prayerful praise and song throughout the liturgical year. All are welcome to enhance through music, this ministry of liturgical song, chant, psalmody, anthem and accompaniment.

Adult Choir
Anyone over the age of 14, who is interested in singing is encouraged to join the choir. It is okay to join for special occasions such as Christmas or Easter if that is all your schedule allows. Ability to read music is not necessary to begin. Choir rehearsals are held periodically. For special holidays, rehearsals are scheduled four weeks prior to the celebration.

Children and Youth Choir
This choir is composed of all school-going children up to high school age. It is open to all parish children and youth.

Cantors
The role of a cantor is to be a song leader and to lead the congregation to participate in the singing. The role of the cantor is also to share in proclaiming the Word of God, particularly as a psalmist; to teach the assembly songs, refrains and acclamations; to facilitate and encourage the sung worship of the assembly; and to lead moments of worship with solo song.

Musicians
Anyone with the ability to play a musical instrument is encouraged to offer one's talent and service.
